Yesterday’s lunch. Traditional poutine for the princely sum of €6.

Kinja'd!!!

It’s filling, I’ll give it that, but it’s only chips, gravy and lumps of cheese.

I sometimes wonder if !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! has ever tried it.

... it’s only chips, gravy and lumps of cheese.

In the same way that pizza is only bread, red sauce and cheese.

Yup. Plain pizza can get very old, very quickly.

I love a proper poutine. Best one I ever had was at a little stand on Ile d’ Orleans near Quebec City.

In the U.K. we use grated cheese, either a mild cheddar or mature cheddar with chips and thick beefy gravy.

People keep saying British food is bland or boring.

But much of our food came about hundreds of years ago before we had spices in the U.K. or before they were affordable by the common man.

We have added some spices over the years but generally our food is filling and tasty to us, though not spicy to others.

Who the hell eats plain cheese pizza past the age of 12?
